Meet Derek Cribb, who teaches science, and is a coach and an eighth grade advisor.
Q: What have you enjoyed most about teaching at Fenn in your nineteen years here?
A: I enjoy working with dedicated, caring, and fun educators who like what they do and strive to help our students learn and grow.
Q: What do you hope boys will come away with after being in your classes?
A: I hope they have learned to think scientifically and to be curious about how things work. Making observations and predictions, testing a hypothesis, collecting data, and making conclusions based on hard data are skills that I hope my students use in their life when making decisions.
Q: What are your passions and interests outside of teaching?
A: I ski at Wachusett with the Fenn Flyers (Dave Duane, Nat Carr, Rich Given, and Jeff Trotksy) every week in the winter.
Q: As a parent of a Fenn boy, what do you think the School has done for your son?
A: I am really pleased that Charlie is exposed to a wide range of arts offerings. He has really grown musically thanks to the great instruction offered at Fenn. Performing on stage in concerts, singing the National Anthem at Fenway Park, marching in the Patriots’ Day parade in Concord, and competing in the Music in the Park festival are the kinds of opportunities that have really been exciting to see and hear about.
