Senior Stories: Out of our Comfort Zone and Into the End Zone

Senior Stories is one of a number of opportunities this year for ninth graders to demonstrate leadership and enable the community to get to know them better. At the start of All School Meeting, the boys, in teams of two or three, have been sharing experiences at Fenn that have inspired them or made them better people.

Arthur Gildehaus and Jonathan Tesoro, standing in front of the community in the Meeting and Performance Hall on January 30, said they didn’t know which sport to play last fall. Encouraged by family and friends, they decided to try football, a brand new sport for each of them.

Varsity Hockey Team, Wrestlers, Do Well at Tournaments

After a day of determined, tough play, the Fenn Varsity hockey team took second place and the Sportsmanship Award at a tournament held at St. Mark’s School on January 28.

“We battled hard,” declared Coach Derek Boonisar, “and we’re proud to have finished second in this group of four very competitive schools.

Singer-songwriter, Children’s Book Author Visit Fenn

While a singer-songwriter took Middle and Upper School boys through a 20th and 21st century history of protest songs, an author-illustrator explained to Lower School students just what goes into writing and illustrating a children’s book. Both events took place on January 25.
