ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION

Fenn seeks an Assistant Director of Admission to start during the summer of 2020. This is a wonderful position for an ambitious self-starter who wants to learn several aspects of independent school life. Reporting directly to the Director of Admission and Financial Aid, the Assistant Director of Admission will help the team bring in mission-appropriate students in a collaborative, high energy environment. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to engage warmly and effectively with prospective families.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct campus tours for prospective families with the goal of emphasizing the value proposition inherent to a Fenn education; articulate clearly Fenn’s mission and philosophy
  • Interview and assess student applicants
  • Communicate with prospective families via email and phone in a responsive, professional manner
  • Assist with planning and coordinating admissions-related events including Fenn’s annual Open House and student Revisit Day; administer on-site standardized testing
  • Represent the School both on and off campus at school fairs and other admissions events
  • Potential teaching and coaching opportunities, depending on interest and qualification
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission and Financial Aid

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate will be joining a collaborative team and have the demonstrated ability to relate to all prospective families of boys in grades 4 through 9. The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities using excellent verbal and written communication skills is key. This role requires diplomacy, tact, organization and a solid appreciation of what it means to be part of a team.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an independent school is preferred, or related sales and marketing experience
  • Outstanding oral communication, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to use relevant tools for communication and reporting, including MS Office and database
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines
  • Ability to physically navigate the campus several times a day
  • Occasional weekend and evening work required

Additional details:

  • This position may be either a 10- or 12-month role, depending on the School’s needs;
  • Compensation will be determined based on qualification and experience;
