Executive assistant to the headmaster

The Fenn School seeks an Executive Assistant to the Headmaster to work closely with the Headmaster on all of his daily activities and ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Headmaster’s office. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, friendly, self-confident, and comfortable interacting with parents, students, colleagues, visitors to the School, and the public.

The Executive Assistant to the Headmaster is the central coordinator for the Headmaster’s office, managing the smooth running of that office and ensuring the Headmaster is prepared appropriately and thoroughly for each day. He/she interacts with all school constituencies, particularly faculty and staff, parents, students, alumni, and Board of Trustee members, and is responsible for maintaining a professional and welcoming environment in both the Headmaster’s office and, by providing oversight of the office staff, the front office. The start date for this position is June, 2021.

Interested candidates must have strong administrative, computer, communication, and organizational skills, enjoy working with people, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This individual will report to the Headmaster.

This is a full-time, twelve-month position with the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and has occasional evening commitments and weekend hours.

 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in office administration (experience as an executive assistant a plus)
     
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills
     
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
     
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google
     
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
     
  • Ability to maintain discretion as needed and manage sensitive information
