Some 24 boxes filled with items ranging from Swedish Fish and Rice Krispie treats to magazines, batteries, shampoo, and Chapstick have been packed and shipped to Smith. Each of the three school divisions collected different items; the Lower School: snacks; the Middle School: entertainment items; and the Upper School: toiletries.

Smith, 25, is the nephew of Fenn faculty member Winnie Smith. After his graduation Smith attended Middlesex School and George Washington University, where he was in the ROTC program. He was deployed to Afghanistan in September.
