“Landscapes” is a collection of paintings on canvas, rendered in oil and acrylic, and includes past and recent works, some of which feature local scenes. Weezie is interested in “the magical moments of light on nature,”which fascinated the Impressionists. Some of the paintings evoke places of hope, calm, magic, and sanctuary.

Ms. Petrie studied painting at Amherst College, Boston University School of Fine Arts, Philadelphia College of Art, and Vermont Studio School. She lives in Carlisle and maintains a studio at the Emerson Umbrella in Concord.

The Kane Gallery is open weekdays from 8:30 to 5. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, Feb. 21 from 4-6.
