Spring Break in Costa Rica

While staying at a hotel situated near the active Arenal Volcano in the eastern part of Costa Rica, the boys swam at the base of the 230-foot Rio Fortuna waterfall. A visit to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve featured the sighting of howler monkeys just feet from the road and a series of zip lines that allowed the boys to view the area’s diverse ecosystem from the tree tops. Horseback riding, kayaking, skin diving, and a visit to the Monteverde Insect Museum rounded out the trip.

Mr. Rude called the experience “unforgettable,” and said the group was impressed by the kindness and generosity of the Costa Rican people.
