Arts
Central to life at Fenn is a recognition that artistic expression is a human necessity.
Boys who excel in the arts are as valued here as those who perform well on the athletic field or in the classroom. The arts are integral to a Fenn education, providing a fertile ground for boys to develop intuitive skills, understand other cultures, and find their voice. The arts are not just a classroom exercise at Fenn, but rather a vital and integral component of a Fenn education. Our hands-on approach to the arts engages boys by giving them firsthand knowledge of the creative process.
Over the span of a six-year Fenn education, boys have opportunities for acting, playwriting, stagecraft, choral music, composition, instrumental music, ceramics, wood shop, digital and traditional photography, sculpture, drawing, dance, and painting. Fenn boys graduate with a comprehensive arts education that prepares them for secondary school programs and also gives them the tools to continue with their own individual pursuits in the theater, in the wood shop, in the painting or ceramics studio, behind the lens of a still camera, and in a choral or instrumental ensemble.

Located at the center of campus amidst studio arts classrooms is Fenn's Kane Gallery celebrating unique art offerings from students, faculty and staff, and visiting artists. Paintings, drawings, photography, and other visual arts line the gallery walls, while ceramics and woodworking creations fill presentation cases and grace gallery pedestals.
