Athletic Training
Fenn provides an Athletic Trainer to assist athletes during sports. Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation from injuries and medical conditions. Trainers must earn a degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum and receive formal instruction in areas such as injury/illness prevention, first aid and emergency care, assessment of injury/illness prevention, human anatomy and physiology, therapeutic modalities, and nutrition, enhanced through clinical education experience, according to the National Athletic Trainers Association.
The athletic training room is located in the gym lobby, next to the Athletic Director's office, and is open Mondays and Wednesdays through Fridays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesdays from noon to 3:00 p.m.
