![]() Dear Fenn Community, With deep sadness, I am reaching out today to share the news of the passing of Fenn legend, Mark Biscoe, this past Saturday (December 19) in his beloved Maine.
Our Fenn community was truly blessed by Mark's 37-year career with us on Monument Street as a faculty member, coach, and administrator (including roles as Assistant Headmaster, Head of the Middle School, and Director of Athletics). His impact will be everlasting on his colleagues, his students, and the many Fenn families and friends who were so very lucky to know him. Many years ago, Fenn began bestowing the Mark Biscoe Award on worthy graduates as a testament to Mark's positive influence on Fenn. The award is presented to seniors "who, through their personal growth in their years at Fenn, have come to value and live out the ideals of school citizenship that Mark Biscoe, as teacher and coach, inspired generations of Fenn students to embrace." The intention and wording of the award perfectly capture the essence of Mark and his singular gifts as an educator.
Mark was equally a fixture at Fenn after his retirement in 1995, attending annual Board of Visitor Meetings, Reunion and Homecoming festivities, the annual Fenn basketball tournament, and various other events on campus. He will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts are with his wife Jane, their children Mark, Jr., Andrew, and Kate, and all of Mark's beloved family members and friends at this difficult time. If you wish to send Jane and the family a note, you may use this address - 20 Mast Lane, Brunswick, ME 04011.
Mark's obituary, shared by his family, follows below. His was surely a wonderful life, and we are eternally blessed that Fenn was such a rich part of it.
Warmly, Derek Boonisar
