Alumnus in the Spotlight: Adam Reeve '06 Helps Companies Understand the Value of Clean Energy

Honoring Black History Month
This past February, Fenn's Diversity Equity and Inclusion office offered programming that detailed the history and significance of music as a form of protest. Guided by DEI staff, students were invited to listen to and engage with a selection of protest songs and videos by Black musicians and to consider the material's intent and its impact on them. Students offered insightful and powerful perspectives in response to their experiences with the activity.
Showcased in the Kane Gallery were a stunning Civil Rights Altar that encouraged visitors to reflect on the work that so many people have done to advance equity and justice in the United States and a "Beloved Community Quilt" comprised of unique squares created by Fenn students, faculty and staff to show what a just and equitable society looks like.

7th Grade Washington D.C. Trip Returns
A favorite memory for many Fenn alumni, the 7th Grade Washington D.C. trip returned this spring!
During their time in the D.C. area, boys visited the U.S. Capitol Building, a number of Smithsonian Museums, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and many of the memorials that honor and remember figures like Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Students also had the special opportunity to meet Samantha Power P'24 and learn about her work as Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Celebrating Women's History Month
As a part of Women's History Month, Fenn is celebrating women who play a vital role in our community. Last week we honored Virginia Morales, Fenn's Director of Instrumental Music!
Virginia Morales has been teaching at Fenn for six years, and she contributes to the community in countless ways. Virginia is a seventh grade music teacher, an eighth grade advisor, the Director of Instrumental Music, and she conducts all ensembles.
Prior to coming to Fenn, Virginia went to Boston University and received her Ph.D. in Music Performance. She has performed with numerous symphonies including the Cape Symphony, the Plymouth Symphony, the Atlantic Symphony, and the Boston Chamber Orchestra. Virginia also recently joined the Eureka Ensemble, a Boston-based group that focuses on making social change through music.
