| Honoring Black History Month This past February, Fenn's Diversity Equity and Inclusion office offered programming that detailed the history and significance of music as a form of protest. Guided by DEI staff, students were invited to listen to and engage with a selection of protest songs and videos by Black musicians and to consider the material's intent and its impact on them. Students offered insightful and powerful perspectives in response to their experiences with the activity. Showcased in the Kane Gallery were a stunning Civil Rights Altar that encouraged visitors to reflect on the work that so many people have done to advance equity and justice in the United States and a "Beloved Community Quilt" comprised of unique squares created by Fenn students, faculty and staff to show what a just and equitable society looks like. |
