Just a few years after donning the blue and gold for The Fenn School, Teddy Stiga ’21 will once again be playing in those colors, but this time, it will be as a professional hockey player.

On June 29, the Nashville Predators selected Stiga in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft with the 55th overall pick. The Sudbury native was projected to go as high as the middle of the first round, allowing the Predators to get one of the best prospects available with their second round pick.

“It was a dream come true,” Stiga said at his post-draft press conference. “This is what every hockey player dreams of.”

Stiga, 18, will head to Boston College this fall where he will continue his development as a player after a two-year stint with USA Hockey's National Team Development program. In his most recent season with the USA U-18 team, Stiga collected 36 goals and 43 assists for 79 points in 61 games played, predominantly on their top line.

Following the draft, Stiga quickly packed his bags and headed straight to Nashville, Tennessee to participate in the Predators development camp. To read more on Stiga and the excitement from Nashville, click here.
