We invite our Fenn community to a stunning Art Show in the Kane Gallery through Tuesday, November 21. Guest artist Elise Wiley describes her art as "fun, empowering, joyful and expressive," and it is achieved using a paint brush affixed to the end of a fencing sword. The result of this highly unique "sword painting" are the bold, beautiful, colorful, and abstract pieces currently on display.
"The result of letting go and embracing the sword has been these beautiful, bold, colorful abstract, gestural images," says Wiley. "They've been pieces I couldn't have created any other way, and I love them."
The Fenn community is welcome to view the show between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. during school days. Please remember to sign in at the W.W. Fenn Building to secure a visitor's badge, and please enter the Gallery from the Gym lobby in the Boll Building. Please also plan to join us for a special reception with Elise on Friday, November 17 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. to learn more about her process for creating such stunning art pieces!
After viewing the show, it is our hope that you will leave a message for Elise in the white comment book that will be available in the Gallery. She will certainly welcome hearing how her work moved Gallery visitors.
