Happy WINTER Fenn Parents!
Dear Fenn Parents:
Our fall semester that has come to a close was vibrant with the energy of Fenn boys and Fenn life. Fenn’s classrooms were alive with boys’ learning in projects, discussions, debates, experiments, simulations and, at times, student-led lessons. The Ward Hall stage was graced by thespians in the Middle School play Witches, the Lower School boys in their drama sketches, and our sixth grade Shakespearean actors. Fenn’s fields and woods yielded the joyful sounds and inspiring sights of boys at play in sports throughout this mild and sunny autumn. And, on another front, Fenn was visited and assessed in early November by a team of affirming educators from the Association of Independent Schools in New England for our tenth year re-accreditation that we are confident the AISNE Board of Directors will officially issue in January. And finally, steady progress, which can be viewed in real time on the Fenn website, continues to be made daily on the construction of Fenn’s new Campus Center with its planned completion in June. Indeed, this first portion of the 2017-2018 academic year has been a study in the power and inspiration of Sua Sponte for our Fenn boys and community. As we turn the calendar page to 2018, we set our sights on the months ahead, which will carry us through the winter and into spring toward Graduation Day. Our momentum and optimism could not be greater. Fenn and Fenn boys are truly thriving.
As you support your son through 2018, we urge you to continue to use this section of the Fenn website as a resource to learn more about the multitude of activities at Fenn. Of particular importance is the Parent and Student Handbook, which shares important school policies and procedures, as well as other essential information regarding the mission, program, events, schedule, and organizational structure of Fenn. In anticipation of the winter season, please be reminded of our snow day policies.
While many important resources are available to you electronically, we welcome hearing about your family’s unique Fenn experience in-person, on the telephone or via email. Knowing how your son is faring will enable us to be strong partners with you on the exciting educational journey that unfolds for him this school year.
We also want to ensure that our final push during the admissions season is a successful one, and so we always welcome recommendations of families that would be well-matched with Fenn for the 2018-19 school year. Together, we will ensure that all Fenn students enjoy a rich experience here and that other diverse and talented boys will join and contribute to our ever-growing community.
I wish you, your sons, and all of your family a joyous holiday season and good health and happiness in the new year ahead.
With warm regards,
