Posted 04/07/2016 08:00AM

Fenn eighth grader Julian Yang, ninth grader Liam Tasker, sixth grader Andrew Heinze, and seventh grader Sam Barton were honored for their artwork in the 2016 Small Independent School Arts League (SISAL) Exhibition, held at Bancroft School in March.

Julian (pictured) won a third place ribbon for his digital art piece titled “Kane;” Liam Tasker was awarded an Honorable Mention for his untitled ceramics piece; Sam Barton won a second place ribbon for his interpretation of a Shaker end table; and Andrew Heinze was awarded an Honorable Mention for his medium Shaker-style box.

This year some 400 pieces qualified to be shown in the juried exhibit, and all of the pieces entered by Fenn met the standards for submission and were displayed in the show, according to Tete Cobblah, chair of the arts department.

Besides those honored, these boys’ work was displayed in the exhibit: Painting: Alex Brown, Matty Shields, Reid Gekle, and Brendan Peters; Drawing: Eamon O’Malley, Nick Beck, and James Ewing; Printmaking: James Webster, William Jevon, Will Rutherford, and Niti Romeri; Digital Art: Alex Natalizio, Stuart McCallum, and Nico Martinez; Sculpture: Will Skelly, Jacob Czarnecki, Nathan McCarthy, and Eddie Jelin; Ceramics: Tim Smith, Andrew Pesce, Mikey Bean, Mark Reiss, and Tad Scheibe; Woodworking: Brendan Peters, Fru Nkimbeng, Owen White, Ethan Bondick, Colin Cunningham, and Owen Johnson; Photography: Will Skelly, Nick Bettenhauser, and Fru Nkimbeng.

We congratulate all of these artists for their talent and creativity.
