Come one, come all to see Fenn's Middle School thespians bring to life the fantastical world of magic and intrigue in The King Stag by Carlo Gozzi (adapted by Dr. Luke Jorgensen). Audiences can enjoy two performances in Fenn's Ward Hall -- on Friday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are free and available for pick-up in Fenn's W.W. Fenn Administration Building at the center of campus and/or at the door before performances.
"The magician Durandarte's gift to the King of Serendip almost leads to disaster when the evil Prime Minister uses it to impersonate the King, usurp his power, marry his betrothed - and turn the King himself into a stag! A living statue, a wise-cracking parrot, and a host of characters from commedia dell'arte join the action. Welcome to Carlo Gozzi's magical fairy tale of love and laughter, of transformation and treachery, of deceit and delight! The King Stag combines hilarious physical comedy with theatrical beauty and charming romance. Will good triumph over evil? Can love really conquer all? And what's up with the mysterious parrot that's popping up everywhere?"
We hope our Middle School boys are welcomed by sizable audiences at both performances as a reward for their hard work memorizing their parts and having the courage to dive into their roles with gusto. Break a leg, thespians, and thank you to the equally committed tech crew!
