All School Meeting
Three days per week, the Fenn community meets in Ward Hall for All School Meeting; a cherished tradition that brings our students and faculty together.
These gatherings feature important announcements from both faculty and students, and are enlivened by student performances that fill the hall with creativity and energy. Each meeting reinforces our sense of unity and commitment to each other, celebrating our shared achievements and strengthening our community bonds.
All School Meeting provides a space for our students to make announcements to the community about upcoming events, past sports results, and opportunities to volunteer. Organized by our student government leaders, we begin our meetings on Mondays and Fridays with a community song from our songbooks. What follows depends on the day. Whether a student has offered to play a piece of music on the piano or the improv class is sharing an interactive skit on stage, Fenn offers dynamic content that celebrates our creativity and achievements.
Student Performances
Our students courageously come to the front of the hall during All School Meeting to play a piece of music they've been practicing on their own. From Mozart's intricate pieces to a classic Beatles song, our students put their talents on full display before a packed hall of 400+ audience members. Other student performances include our instrumental bands and ensembles, a sneak peak of a scene from the upcoming musical, and our student leaders energizing the crowd during our Blue and Gold spirit days.
Interactive Programming
Community events, such as DEI Trivia or our Geo Bee, spark lively interactions among students, fostering a sense of friendly collaboration as they work together to answer questions across diverse topics. This not only reinforces their knowledge in an enjoyable way but also builds team spirit and critical thinking skills. Student presentations, on the other hand, offer our students the opportunity to showcase their creativity and research, turning their passions into a dynamic forum for sharing ideas and talents.
Special Assemblies
From visiting award-winning authors to competitive dance groups and everything in between, our assemblies enhance and broaden the student experience. Through the initiative of our Parents Association and Department Heads, Fenn is able to invite guests from a wide-array of backgrounds to share their talents and passions in an interactive way for the whole Fenn community. These fun and immersive experiences are relevant for an all-boys school by creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
