Teddy Stiga ’21 Scores Golden Goal for Team USA at IIHF World Juniors

On Sunday January 5, the U.S. National Junior Team defeated Finland 4-3 in overtime of the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship gold medal game on Sunday night in Ottawa, Ontario.

Fenn alumnus and current Boston College men’s hockey forward Teddy Stiga ’21 scored the game-winning goal in the contest to give the United States back-to-back gold medals in the event for the first time ever. The goal, which was Stiga's first of the tournament, came on a great saucer pass from USA teammate Zeev Buium that sprung Stiga for the breakaway goal. He finished the tournament with one goal and two assists over six games played.
