Fenn Mathematic Scholars Receive National Recognition

On Tuesday, January 27, 21 Fenn students took the AMC 8, a nationwide math contest given by the Mathematical Association of America. Administered to 80,000+ students in grade 8 and below across 2,100 schools, the test consists of 25 multiple-choice questions given in 40 minutes. Join us in applauding the phenomenal performance of our students!

Eighth grader Nathan Qu (pictured here with his math teacher Dave Sanborn) received the Honor Roll of Distinction for scoring in the top 1% nationally. He also scored a 25 out of 25, achieved by less than 100 students each year. Nathan is in Mr. Sanborn's Advanced Geometry and Trigonometry class.

Receiving the Certificate of Distinction given to students scoring in the top 5% nationally were eighth grader Ryan Liu and sixth grader Sam Chen. Sam also received the Certificate of Achievement for sixth graders with a score of 16 or higher. Scoring in the top 10% nationally were eighth graders Leo Adida, Chase Raja, and Travis Stuart, and in the top 25% were seventh graders Connor Drummond, Drew Grattan, Aaron Kang, Lucas Liu, Jeremy Ye, Kevin Yu, and eighth grader Wilder Wyman-Jones. Fantastic achievements by all!
