CCHS FRESHMAN 44
FENN SCHOOL 56
In the team’s first action of the season, Fenn played host to Concord-Carlisle High School’s freshman team. Despite our slow start in the first half from the blue and gold, the Fenn boys were able to control the pace of the game in the second and get their offense clicking. Eighth grader Ben Mucci did most of the heavy lifting as he was a consistent option in both the pick and roll and transition, finishing with a double-double (10 points, 14 rebounds). On the defensive end, the team’s intensity and teamwork helped force CCHS into making some costly turnovers in transition, leading to Fenn’s first win of the season.

RIVERS SCHOOL 0
THE FENN SCHOOL 3
Inside of Valley Sports Rink #1, Fenn’s Varsity Hockey team took on Rivers in their first game of the year. Rivers, who did not have a goalie due to injury, asked for some assistance between the pipes for this scrimmage. This led to both of Fenn’s two goalies (Tristen Moran & Gideon Abbott) splitting the game playing for Rivers. Eighth grader Jay Freda scored a short-handed goal unassisted after poke-checking the puck from the defenseman and going all the way down for a breakaway goal. In the second period, ninth grader Alex Signorovitch scored with an assist from eighth grader Landon Masters. In the final period, Freda scored his second goal on a nifty passing play by Signorovitch and eighth grader Renzo Ma.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13
PIKE SCHOOL 2
FENN SCHOOL 3
Following a solid opening performance on the road at Rivers, the Varsity Hockey team headed back to Valley Sports for their home opener against a tenacious Pike team. Before the game, the team was visited by alumnus and current Boston College Eagles hockey player Teddy Stiga '21 who read the starting line-up to get the boys fired up. However, it was Pike who scored first on a bouncing puck rebound that slipped past ninth grader goalie Tristan Moran. In the second period, Fenn was able to recover and convert on a nice goal by eighth grader Jay Freda, assisted by fellow classmate Landon Masters.
With the score all squared at 1-1 going into the 3rd period, Fenn scored the next two goals, putting on more and more forechecking and converting that aggressiveness into goals. Masters scored with a nice assist from eighth grader winger Matt Greco. Greco then set up seventh grade forward JD Souza with a nice pass and Souza found the top corner of the net with pinpoint accuracy. Fenn held on for the win with solid goaltending by Moran despite a late power play goal from Pike late in the 3rd period.

JV BASKETBALL
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11
FENN SCHOOL 7
BELMONT HILL 55
The Fenn JV basketball squad opened their season on the road against Belmont Hill. With limited practice time prior to the season opener, a very talented Belmont Hill team was able to run their offense with a high level of precision. Seventh grader Liam Anderson was aggressive off the bench and Will Bonnes handled the ball for us for most of the game. Belmont Hill’s strong performance shined brightest on this day, as they handed Fenn their first loss of the season.
Ninth grader Ethan Na was adamant about moving past this game and getting better in the team’s next practice as the team prepares for Lexington Christian Academy.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13
LEXINGTON CHRISTIAN 39
FENN SCHOOL 53
After a tough opening season loss, the JV team hosted their first game in the New Gym against LCA to close out the week. From the opening tip, the entire team showed up to play. Fenn came out firing on all cylinders and went up by double digits quickly in the first half. Eleven of the team’s twelve players would end up scoring in a balanced offensive performance across the board.
Seventh grader Max Kpissay hit three three-pointers with fellow seventh grader Liam Anderson adding 11 hard earned points. Ninth grader Ethan Na and eighth grader Chase Gillick dominated on the boards on both ends of the court for the blue and gold. Defensively, the team played much more aggressively than their first game and made some big stops when we needed to. Coaches Burgess and Romero were pleased with the bounce-back effort from the boys!
